Bricks are used extensively in the construction of low-rise dwellings, this class explores the most commonly found defects when undertaking mortgage valuations and condition-based surveys such as the RICS condition, homebuyer and building surveys.
Through extensive use of digital photographs taken by the trainer, discover the history of brickmaking, analyse common types of brick encountered on a day-to-day basis, and learn which defects you need to make sure are reported to clients. You will also have the opportunity to consider some early research undertaken by the author as part of his PhD looking at retrofitted cavity wall insulation.
