In the aftermath of the devastating 2017 El Niño phenomenon, Peru faced the monumental task of rebuilding its critical infrastructure. This presentation highlights the collaborative efforts between the UK Delivery Team (UKDT) including Mace, Gleeds, Arup and the Peruvian government. Key initiatives encompass the construction of 74 schools and 18 healthcare facilities, the implementation of flood defence systems across 17 river basins across the country.
Following this success the Bicentennial Schools Programme was launched, aiming to establish 75 state-of-the-art educational institutions nationwide with a more hand on approach. Finally take a glimpse inside the UK Health Alliance (UKHA) a joint venture that is spearheading the construction of three complex hospitals, integrating UK best practices to enhance healthcare delivery. Employing NEC contracts and Building Information Modelling (BIM,) all 3 programmes not only address immediate reconstruction needs but also lay the foundation for sustainable, resilient communities.
