This webinar will provide residential property professionals with a clear and practical overview of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and their growing role in the transition to Net Zero housing in the UK. The session will explain how EPCs are produced, how ratings are calculated through the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP), and how to interpret EPC data when advising clients, managing residential assets, or undertaking property transactions. Participants will gain insight into how EPC ratings influence property value, lettings compliance, and improvement recommendations, as well as how EPC data is increasingly used to inform national energy policy and housing decarbonisation strategies.
The webinar will also explore how EPCs fit within the wider Net Zero agenda for domestic property, including current and proposed regulatory developments such as Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES). Retrofit measures commonly recommended through EPCs such as insulation upgrades, low-carbon heating systems, and fabric improvements - will also be explored.
