    Course Introduction

    BIM is widely becoming a common methodology used on construction projects with benefits and risks a part of day to day understanding in the built environment. To maintain a competitive offering, you must be able to understand how this impacts your work and how your projects need to be managed.     Meet the trainers

    Laura McCrossan

    Laura is a BIM specialist with 15 years' experience in the construction industry, with involvement in a wide range of multi-disciplinary construction projects across the UK and spanning a variety of sectors, including Healthcare, Education and Heritage. She started her career in Architectural Technology, where she became a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) in 2015. Since then, Laura’s experience has been focused on BIM, Information Management and Digital Construction. Laura has a robust knowledge of BIM and experience in the creation, implementation and management of digital strategies to support a clients’ BIM goals and asset management objectives. She also has experience working as part of both a Design Team and Contractor, so has a solid understanding of the benefits and challenges faced by each party on a project in the implementation of BIM.

    Niall Murphy

    Niall is a strong proponent of digitally enabled design, construct and operation strategies having worked across an extensive range of the UK’s most innovative projects. Throughout his career Niall has successfully applied his knowledge of information management and BIM technologies to help clients define, communicate, and deliver against the digital and information needs of their projects. In particular, he is skilled at developing strategies to overcome the challenges faced when the client or delivery team are encountering BIM and information management processes for the first time. Niall learnt firsthand the challenges teams face when implementing BIM and the information management process, having guided an architecture studio through the BRE certification for BIM Level 2. Previously, Niall has guest lectured at Queen’s University Belfast, helping to deliver elements of the MSc BIM Project Management course.
