Mat is a Partner and Head of Sustainability at independent property and construction consultancy, Tuffin Ferraby Taylor LLP (TFT).  He is a chartered building surveyor with over 20 years’ experience in property and construction.

Mat specialises in helping TFT’s clients understand the specific environmental risks within a sustainable real estate portfolio. This includes making the economic case to achieve environmental goals, assisting in medium-to-long-term strategies and providing the appropriate commercial evidence to help validate a sustainable message.

Mat is a regular contributor of sustainability articles to publishers such as Construction News, Estates Gazette, RICS and Property Week and is a lead author of the RICS Guidance Note – ‘Sustainability – improving performance in existing buildings’.  He is a member of the British Council for Offices (BCO) Environmental Sustainability Group and the Association of Real Estate Funds (AREF) Environmental and Social Governance Committee.
