This webinar addresses the various contentious issues related to variation in construction contracts. Issues like omission of works, valuation of varied works, cherry picking of methodology for valuation, issues related to BOQ loading, how sacrosanct the BOQ rates are and demand for new rates, overhead absorption.

Professor Venkat walks through the various contentious issues with supported case laws from different common law jurisdictions. He will provide practical tips to overcome some of these issues based on his hands-on experience and working in the Middle East and Africa markets.

Prof Venkat is an experienced professional with qualifications in engineering, cost accountancy and construction law. He is a chartered quantity surveyor, chartered engineer and Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of arbitrators. He has close to four decades of experience in all aspects of construction and currently he has taken an additional role as professor of practice in a leading law school in India. He has curated India's first LLM program in construction law and arbitration similar to the program that is being offered by kings College London and other UK and Australian universities.
