Are there any pre-requisites?

All potential delegates need to undertake a free online project management assessment. This will confirm suitability and readiness for your chosen course and exam. This is not an entry level qualification, candidates typically:

• Work in a project environment.
• Possess 2-3 years of project management experience or are pursuing a related apprenticeship or degree.
• Aim to advance their career and employability.
• Seek comprehensive project management knowledge beyond specific methodologies
• If you don’t already have any of the experiences referred to above, you might want to take the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification before studying for the APM Project Management Qualification.

Course Contents

The syllabus is based on the APM Body of Knowledge, which encompasses all areas of project management including strategic and commercial considerations, together with the technical, organisational and people management skills required to participate effectively in project management.

Course and Exam Combo

Alternatively, you can purchase a Combo via the RICS, which includes the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) e-learning course, as well as the exam.

The cost of the combo is £850 for non-members of the RICS, and £782 for RICS members and candidates.

End of Course assessment

On completing all parts of the course, you will receive an RICS Certificate of Completion.

If you are seeking the formal qualification:

On completing the course you will be required to apply for the exam directly with the APM Group. On passing the exam you will receive the formal APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ).

The exam will focus on a candidate’s project management knowledge through four new question types:

• Multiple response (20 questions × 1 mark each)
• Select from list (5 questions × 2 marks each)
• Short response (5 questions × 2 marks each)
• Long response (10 questions × 5 marks each)
