    Course information

Information management using BIM is increasingly becoming a standard approach across construction and built environment projects. As organisations continue to adopt BIM-enabled processes, understanding how information is created, managed, shared, and used throughout the project lifecycle is essential for delivering successful outcomes. To remain competitive, you need to understand how information management impacts your role and how BIM requirements influence project delivery.

This course provides a fundamental understanding of information management using BIM and the principles that support effective collaboration and decision-making. You will learn how BIM-enabled information management processes can be applied within your projects, helping you to improve efficiency, support client requirements, and demonstrate added value throughout the project lifecycle.

This course introduces the UK's evolving approach to information management through the Information Management Initiative (IMI). You will explore how BIM supports the wider information management framework defined by the IMI and ISO 19650, helping you stay aligned with current and emerging industry practices.
