I recently retired from full time work after a 42-year career at the forefront of commercial management of major capital works projects and programmes. I was a Senior Partner at EC Harris / Arcadis where, during the 19 years I was at the firm I inspired, developed and led teams of commercial managers to deliver superior business outcomes for clients on numerous complex, high profile commissions.

I have a deep understanding of how to set capital programmes and projects up for success through the design, procurement and delivery phases.

I am an expert in Whole Life Carbon Assessment and was the Whole Life Carbon Lead for Arcadis’ Places Business in UK & Ireland.

I am credited for my contribution to the new RICS Professional Standard and am working with the RICS on their Whole Life Carbon Assessor Certification scheme and their Carbon Assessment Software Validation programme.

I was also involved with the UK Green Building Council on their November 2023 publication “Embodied Carbon – Improving your modelling and reporting” and was an expert panel member on two carbon reporting masterclasses held by UKGBC in 2024 following release of the publication.
