    This is an online course that you can study in your own time. There are six modules, plus an exam at the end of the course. In each module, you have access to eLearning, reading, case study and a quiz. You also have access to live online consolidation sessions, where a tutor will take you through the module, case study and any tricky elements of learning. Each module is expected to take you one month. You are given one month to complete your exam and a further month to complete any outstanding work. After this time, the course will end, and you will no longer have access to these materials.

    Course Overview

    As a project manager, you'll oversee the construction project lifecycle, from start to finish. This involves working with clients on requirements, managing design, procurement, construction, and final handover. Mastering this enhances your skills as a construction professional and project executor.

    Throughout the course, you'll explore each project stage and its key steps. This includes planning, organizing, and controlling construction operations, and managing feasibility studies, design, construction, maintenance, refurbishment, and demolition. The content provides a well-rounded view of construction project management and essential skills.

    Meet the Trainer

    Tim Jones FRICS, MBA, B.Sc, MRPSA has 37+ years’ experience in the construction industry in both the public and private sectors. During that time he has project managed  over £900M in capital projects in areas such as leisure centres, housing regeneration, new build, historic buildings, parks, farms, commercial developments, performance venues, museums, district heating, roads etc.

    He is a lead trainer for the RICS in Project Management and Contracts – mainly JCT, but also NEC.

    Tim also has 24 years experience of APC training and assessing. He was lead author on the 2018 Project Management Pathway Guide.

    He is a past working group member of the RICS Expert Panel looking at Post-Grenfell Project Management Competencies.

    Tim is an past RICS Project Management Global Board member and past chair of the QS & Construction Professional Group for the RICS West Midlands.

    Tim provides and has provided project management, building surveying, quantity surveying and contract administration training for a range of clients including government departments, universities, large and small consultancies, Infrastructure companies, The National Trust, Historic England and the Duchy of Cornwall for example.

    Tim is also a lead author on the revisions to the RICS Black Book suite of construction management guidance notes.
