David is the Chief Surveyor and Head of Property Risk for the Paragon Group, a FTSE 250 listed company and has been a member of the CML Valuation Panel since 2004. David was appointed in July 1990 following a period as an in house surveyor with the Woolwich Building Society. David originally trained and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in private practice covering all aspects of commercial property and land management before specialising in residential valuation work in 1987. From the mid 1990's David has seen Paragon evolve and develop in the specialist Buy to Let market with a particular focus on professional landlords and more complex residential investments. David holds a technical role with responsibility for advising the company on a range of property related matters, principally in connection with the buy to let business for Paragon Mortgages, Mortgage Trust and Paragon Bank. David is also a member of the Group Credit Committee. Paragon has a team of 18 in-house Regional Surveyors and works closely with a small panel of external valuers. Today the Paragon Group has £10.8 billion of loan assets under management and employs over 1,200 people.
