The Agricultural Landlord and Tenant Code of Practice for England has been prepared following Defra’s response (May 2023) to the Rock Review: Working together for a thriving agricultural tenanted sector (2022).
The code is founded on three principles of: clarity, communication and collaboration. Each section within the Code is characterised by commitments to clear communication, realistic timetables and expectations, mutual respect, the long view, and clear and documented agreed outcomes to negotiations conducted positively and flexibly.
